Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Central Command), Lucknow
The origin of PCDA(CC) can be traced in form of Pay (Army) Office which was set up
in 1976 under an Accounts Officer at Lucknow for Pay & Allowances of civilians of
Army, MES etc at Kanpur, Allahabad and Lucknow under jurisdiction of CDA(CC) Meerut.
This office was upgraded to an Area Accounts Office in 1980 under the charge of an
I.D.A.S Officer. The scope and area of work was greatly enhanced by raising it to a
full-fledged CDA office in May 1986. Since then this office continued as CDA Lucknow
under over all control of CDA(CC) Meerut until it was allotted a independent Code in
1989. This office was upgraded to that of CDA(CC) Lucknow in January 1995 by merging
of six PAOs(Ors) located at Lucknow, Faizabad, Fatehgarh and Varanasi and it continue
to be so, till it was further upgraded to that of office of PCDA(CC) in July, 2000.
